Bermuda International Airport

Client: L.F. Wade International Airport Authority
Contract Period: February 2008 – August 2008
Contract Value: US $17 million

A major runway redevelopment project at Bermuda International Airport was successfully completed in just 16 weeks by our international team based in the West Indies.

Commissioned by the Government of Bermuda Department of Airport Operations, the US$ 17 million scheme saw the complete rehabilitation of the taxiway and apron pavements including milling of the existing pavement, hot mix asphalt concrete resurfacing of Taxiway 1, Apron 1 and the remaining section of Runway 12-30, along with new runway markings.

The contract was delivered during short night time possessions to enable the airport to remain operational throughout the works. Our in-house asphalt plant and machinery was mobilised to lay 48,700 tonnes of asphalt concrete manufactured from aggregates imported from Canada and bitumen imported from the US.
