Airports

The airport industry is experiencing significant change as airport expansion plans rise to the top of government agendas to meet the growing demand from today’s tourists and business travellers.  The world is becoming smaller – and at Lagan Construction we are helping to facilitate the development of airport infrastructure and buildings internationally, often in remote parts of the globe.

Airport infrastructure works are a core part of our business and our teams are experienced in providing the engineering skills and technologies necessary to deliver both airside and landside support facilities.

Working closely with airport operators, owners and carriers – as well as with the general public – we understand the need for maximum safety and security within ‘live’ environments. Utilising our own batching plants and pavers to lay both asphalt or Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC), we work within tight time frames, minimising lead times to reduce the impact of our works on customers and end users.

In every project location we utilise the expertise of our dedicated and long established supply chain, working together to develop optimum solutions that provide best value and exceed customer expectations.

Our projects are delivered through a variety of procurement routes including Design and Build, as consortium members and as international partners. In the last ten years we have completed over 40 airfield projects worldwide – including the development of new runways and taxiways, the improvement and upgrade of existing infrastructure and the provision of a range of support facilities.

In the last 20 years we have completed infrastructure solutions at airports worldwide including: Heathrow, London Luton, Gatwick, Belfast, Cardiff, Bristol and Bournemouth in the UK; in Puerto Rico, Bahamas, British Virgin Islands and Bermuda in the Caribbean; and in Hong Kong and Pakistan in the Middle East.

FACT: Our specialist airport teams have laid in excess of 6 million tonnes of asphalt and concrete and airports worldwide.
