Safety first
Safety is an investment – for today, tomorrow and for our future. We are committed to providing a safe place of work for everyone and strive relentlessly to ensure all our employees and partners understand their role in maintaining high safety standards. This is supported by extensive health and safety training programmes and a behavioural safety drive aimed at instilling a strong safety culture that changes the way we behave and think.
In line with our policy of ‘zero tolerance’ to poor safety, we audit all our sites on a monthly basis to monitor health and safety procedures and practices. Latest results show greater than 85% compliance with our OHSAS 18001 management systems and our lowest ever Accident Frequency Rate which has been consistently below 0.3 for the last two years, significantly lower than the industry average. Future improvements to our behavioural safety programme include encouraging people, through training, to identify and speak out when they see unsafe behaviours and to build on best practice to reduce unsafe acts.

As a caring business we strive to continuously improve our environmental performance and maximise opportunities to work as a team with our people, partners, customers and the public to create a better environment for all.
We welcome the rising demand across every industry to reduce the carbon footprint. Our ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System includes procedures, guidance and best practice to manage our construction sites and office activities. We engage with our employees and the supply chain to promote environmental awareness and responsible behaviour through initiatives including awareness training, regular audits and inspections, impact assessments and liaison with local agencies such as NIEA, EHS, FEPA and SEPA.
Delivering quality
Lagan Construction has a robust Quality Management System which allows us to deliver a consistently high level of service to all our Clients. Our procedures cover all aspects of our operations from the initial pre-qualification, through the bid process, the construction phase to the final delivery and handover of the Project.

The achievement of high quality and consistency calls for a systematic and disciplined approach by all staff in all activities associated with the delivery of the Client’s specific requirements. We are committed to rigorous implementation of our quality management system through the establishment and ongoing review of specific measurable quality objectives, development of bespoke quality plans unique to each project and the involvement of staff in meeting these objectives.
